Psst. Hey, wanna see an almost stock looking Camaro RS convertible thats sure to blow your doors off? Just take a look at Rob Praydis' 1989 Camaro RS convertible. It has been through two engine transplants, the first being the famed "L98" 350 Tuned Port Injection scavenged from a wrecked Z28. This got him to a 13.8 second quarter mile. Unfortunatly, the engine died with major mechanical failure, but there is an upside to everything. For Rob, this upside included:
ZZ4 Crate Engine
SLP Semi-siamesed runners
Edelbrock Hi-Flow intake, all parts ported, smoothed, and gasket matched.
SLP Dual Cold Air Intake w/ relocated MAT sensor.
SLP 1 5/8 coated headers w/ Y-pipe
24#/hr LT1 fuel injectors
AFPR
MSD6AL w/ Taylor 8mm wires, Just-for-you wire looms.
IROC rims, steering box, sway bars, wonder bar, and steering wheel.
TPI 2050 Stall converter mated with a stock 700R4
Alston Subframe Connectors, MAC boxed LCA's, Herb Adams Panhard Rod
3.23 Posi, Disc rear
Dynomax catback w/ 4thgen tips.
Trunk mounted battery complete w/ cut-off switch, inside a Moroso box.
300ZX recaro seats, and a CD player from a '96 Trans Am.

The presence of the 16" IROC rims shod w/ SZ50 Firestones and the 4th gen tips are the ONLY clue that this "stock" looking RS is anything but "stock". When talking with Rob, the only "complaint" about the setup is: "Nobody challenges me, they figure its just a V6". Nice job, Rob. |
Think you know a cool car that would be a great "featured ride"? Tell me about it: ADMIN
