Well you know when I installed my Holley, I could not get the FP above 25psi. Well I put the old Crane back on. I can get the FP over 50, but very jumpy. Anything over 30 and the needle starts to bounce and jump. Seems it's causing the car to run rough. Also under hard acceleration the car cuts out and the knock counts skyrocket! Unfortunatly my gage is under the hood.
I started to look at the Holley part that applies pressure to the fuel rail as compared to the stock part and the one that came with my Accel. Both the stock FPR and the Accell have a small flat disc, that is connected to a ball, that floats in a pinched part of the regulator. This raises it away from the spring and allows it to pivot. The Holley just has a flat disk, no spacing and no pivot. There is no way it is pushing the fuel rail enough to let enough pressure in.
So, I think I have the wrong Holley AFPR and a dying fuel pump. Any opinions?
