Got my windows tinted today......

thought I should get this done before I got my ac fixed. Not that it gets really hot up here, but my interior is really faded from sitting outside. So I got it done. Paid more than I wanted too, but I don't have the time or patience to do it myself. :shrug:

I thought I had a before pic, but all the pics I have are with the windows down! :doh: So here ya go....

20% on the sides, 13% on the back. Still think they could have been darker. We will see once it finishes drying. I can still see thru one side window and out the other side. I know its the right tint cause I watched the guy pull it out of the box. I wanted 5% on the back, but all he had was 13%. Anyways.... just rambling at this point.

EDIT: I paid $160 to get them done. Took the guy a hour and a half.

Guess I should go and work on the Formy now....

Looks good though I'm guessing you don't live in Georgia. They don't play when it comes to tint that dark...I had to rip mine on the spot on my 95 Z when I got pulled over for it. Also, I'd like to say that the early C5 'vette wheels look sharp on your car! smile.gif

Doh...just realized you're in NY...guess the tint laws are different up there or they're just more lenient??

I lived in Ga for 3 yrs and never had a problem with my other cars being tinted 20% all the way around. Sounds like you ran into officer who was having a bad day. I did get pulled over like 3 times with my tint that dark. The wife got pulled over like 7 times. I'm the only one who got a ticket for speeding. Go figure....
NY is alot stricter than GA. You can have your back window(s) as dark as you want, your front passenger window can be 55%, and you are NOT allowed to have any tint on the drivers window!

I just don't care! Car looks alot better IMHO! :D

Looks good. :cool: I think in GA you can have the back as dark as you want it and the side windows can be 35% at most.

I tinted mine myself with "limo" tint from the Discount auto parts. Cheap, but all im expecting it to do is last through the summer...

Yeah, I think that stuff starts to turn purple real soon. We did an friends Dakota with that stuff a while back and it turned purple after about 6 months. Then he went with the titanium tint. Its still black two years later. :D

You definitely get what you pay for. If you have one of the purple :shudder: thirdgens the cheaper stuff might be the way to go...

Yea i did the rear professionally, there's no way in the world i'd want to try and tint the hatch.
