I finnaly hooked up the DakotaDigital box and ruled out my VSS issue as being the cause of my mysterious vibration problems after my T56 install. So I removed the T56, clutch, and flywheel to further investigate. I put my old flexplate back on and fired up my Z28 with no tranny behind it. Idle and reving were silky smooth. Next I installed my T56 flwheel. There was a noticeable difference in the idle and reving conditions and the vibrations were there albeit not as significant as when the tranny and clutch were behind it. I'll pick up a new GM flywheel on Monday and see what happens.

any thoughts?

plus I took these two pictures. One is of the pilot bushing. Did I install it correctly? The second is of the T56 flywheel. Is that metal rod supposed to be is that hole? It is still shiny and looks recent..suspicious..out of place? I imagine it could be for balancing.

That pilot bushing doesnt look like it is in all the way.

I've got a flywheel for the T-56. Just needs to be resurfaced. It's yours if you think it might help some you some bucks.

If a new T56 flywheel is too much I might take you up on that offer. Thanks.

The fisheye effect of the closeup sorta exagerates how much the pilot bearing is sticking out. It was sticking out about 1/8~3/16, and from what I've been told that is about right. It wouldn't go in any further. I removed it anyways and have a new one too install. I plan to add the components one by one and see what causes my problem. At least I know it's not my ECM, VSS, exhaust (rubbing/shaking), cut wires, distr., etc.

When I was installing the pilot bushing I used a hammer and a socket. I bought a wooden dowel so I'll won't feel so bad about beating on it when I install the new one.
