A friend of mine is changing out one of his bent pushrods. We need to know what the best way to adjust the rockers on a 305TPI would be. What do I need?
Personally I adjust mine running. Back off each one til it clacks then tighten half a turn. Can be messy if your not careful, but I have Crane Gold RRs and they don't throw as much oil as OE rockers.
Otherwise here's an excerpt from CHP July '02 issue.

So basiclly like every other engine. I didn't know if there was to be a difference on the actual rockers. I know that some studs don't have a locking nut system on them. I wasn't sure about these, I haven't ever needed to adjust them.
Thanks

K, turned out that is was a bad lifter. It wasn't getting enough oil. Just to double check our conclusions, it was taken to a shop. The mecahnic said the same thing, and that he needed to use a thikcer oil. This should work for a little while until he gets his new engine done.
