I have a surge at idle. Some times when i pull up to a stop light it dies. The minimum air is set at 550 the lowest it will idle, and TPS is at .50 volts.

If the "MINIMUM AIR" is truley 550 RPM, then it should not stall. What was your procedure to do so?

If you have set minimum air and TPS then the only other thing you could try is to clean the IAC.
I have an 86 and had the same problems as you. Looked everywhere for the problem and it was dirty IAC that was the culprit. If you pull it out then you might have to readjust minimum air and TPS again. As when I cleaned mine the car would not start and re-adjusted min air and all was cool.

I would agree, I think that since you have set everything else. Cleaning the IAC should work. Post back and let us know how it is going.

I cleaned the IAC again, still surges. It gets worse as it gets warmer. Is the IAC bad? I didnt mean to offend anyone, but its like asking if you change the air in your tires!
