Installing disc brakes

Last Sat. I modify an 86 rearend to accept a 93 disc brakes set. I need to know what the metal disc on the parking cable bracket is and is it needed? What is the purpose of it?

I have been trying to put a picture in here to show what I am talking about. What do I do to to put image in here? I will post pics when I get thru with the rearend.

To post a picture, you need to have it uploaded to some sort of server. You can't post them out of your hardrive. Then you need to put the full address of teh picture between IMG tags.

I think the disc you are talking about is a dampner assembly

Ok, so it is a damper. I don't want to sound dumb but if it was remove then it will make some kind of noise. Maybe loud noise where other can hear it while I am driving off. I'm asking this because I'm deaf and will not hear it. Don't want to be told the car is making weird noise and not know where it coming from.

What server should I use? Never posted a pic before.

graemlins/lol.gif Yes that was a great help. I (not you) is breaking this car down faster than I can put it back together. Now if I can figure out how to post pic then I am sure it will be esier to explain some of the problem that I am keep finding or forgeting where/what goes there. I have got a long way to go to finishing up this projet and I'm determine to finish it one day. :D

As far as the dampner I will trim it to fit.

if so, use the image shortcut on the below the reply screen. In it you will place the web address of the picture you uploaded and it will appear in the thread. If nothing else, post your web address, PM me, or something like that and we'll figure it out.
