Well, the Hooker SC long tubes are all done and installed now. Only after the major hassle of the starter and other things..

1. My Corvette gear reduction starter is very small, BUT not small enough.. Now it is useless and I had to buy another starter even though I bought that VERY expensive starter about a year ago..
2. The wire and plug for the knock sensor are way too close to the header and will melt, so the sensor must be moved to the other side. But the oil pan does not have a relief in it for the KS, so get out the trusty grinder after taking a shower in antifreeze under car...
3. The freakin brake line for the right front side caliper is actually contacting one of the primaries! What a friggin hassle, now I will have to move break lines around, joy joy..

I really feel sorry for anyone that would try this upgrade with the AC/Heater crap in the way. All mine is removed and it was still a PITA...

Mike, been there, done that. I had to buy another starter as well. I had the same LT1 Vette style GM mini starter that didn't fit. I did away with my KS all together. Don't seem to have any problems with the brake lines though.

All I can say is: hang in there, it will get better and prove to be worth the time/effort.

Ah yes..

those are the classic hassles of putting LT's on a 3rd gen....

You will get thru it... and IT will be worth it!
