Seems like the posi works when it wants too. The other day I let it rip in front of work, and it let out the most embarrassing one-wheel-peel ever. Looked like a motorcycle did a burnout. So today I run to the store, and on the way back, I let her rip again to see, and it did fine... WTF?

BTW, does anybody else have trouble keeping the car straight when spinning tires? I usually have to get out of the gas for fear of hitting something or going off the road...

If my car is pointing straight it usually gives just a wiggle.

If you have been to my house (alot have) then you might be able to make out where this is. After correcting for the back going to the left (right in the picture) it went the other way, and I was going straight for the mailboxes (notice the lines going to the white line), thats when I let off. Granted, I live on a small curve, but I was pointed straight, and even on straigh road, sometimes its hard to maintain... Guess I'm just a sucky driver?

How was it when you ran at the track?

Well, I've had "reports" from some reputable sources that it was NOT working... Thats what got me wondering. I guess if I could throw down for a new Posi, that would eliminate all doubt, but thats not an options :(

What about calling up SLP and ordering a take off Zexel posi for $100?? As for the staying straight thing I usually stay pretty straight when lighting them up. Every once in awhile Ill seem to drift one side out.

Thats a GREAT idea, and Lord knows I've contemplated it, but to use it, I then have to get 3 series gears (I'm currently using Richomnd's special gears for 2 series carriers), then I have to updrade to 28 spline axles and its no longer cost effective, especially when your broke... :(

I'll glady take donations though... Make your check out to "Tripps 12 second fund, P.O. Box..." LOL

I can't count the times I've seen supposed posi rears only spinning one tire. Especially at a sticky 1/4 track.

I have the 9-bolt posi, it does seem to drift the rear end out towards the right everytime. I have gotten so used to it, that I don't even notice it anymore and can get it straight under WOT. The only difference is that mine works all of the time. Are you sure that the oil is the same? A guy across the street had posi from a 3rd gen and used the wrong lube in it, it now peels a single wheel, but for a while would go back and forth depending on the viscosity of the lube from the temperature. Just a thought, I know that you know what your are doing, but just incase someone else did it for you.
