Its the machine work that costs so much when I called 3 years ago they wouldn't even talk to about it. So I swapped a complete 92 dash assembly in mine

actually it came with other items that I didn't take pictures of like the gear that goes on the tranny shaft, several tubes of epoxy, seals, the main part I epoxied into the tailhousing, etc. I didn't take pictures of the other items because they are either standard GM parts or I made drawings/models of them. Those three parts I can easily remove if I need to. The part I epoxied in I couldn't remove so made a drawing of it in case I ever need a new one. Make sense? But yeah it costs some $$$. But at least now I can just plug my speedo cable into my car which is worth something to me. Now I can go from my auto to manual at any time. I was quoted $500 for the T56 retrofit tailshaft that would also allow the cable to be hooked up but since I already had the parts I just followed through.

James,
How much of the install of that kit did you do yourself and how much of it was part of the machining costs? This would be the only way I'd do another T-56 install in a pre 90 Camaro since I'd want to retain cruise control and use of the factory speed sensor... smile.gif

I bought the parts from JagsThatRun for around $200 ($180-$200 ???). I bought an extra tailhousing for $100 (as if someone unbolted it and gave it to me- all sensors/solinoids attached and with idler gear) so my car wouldn't be down since it's my only car. The machine shop milled the hole for $80. I epoxied the carrier into the housing, removed the reluctor form the output shaft, installed the new GM gear, and installed the tailhousing, and R&R'd the tranny.
