Get together in Daytona?

I was thinking of trying to get something together for this summer. Anyone interested in Daytona? That's a 8 hour run for me in Key West, probably about 4 hours for the Savannah crew and somwere in between for our other Florida members (exept Jax guys).
Lots of cool car stuff in Daytona also.

Anytime Feb. - early April is a bad time because of raceweeks, spring break, etc. Oh well... time to start throwing out ideas...

I was thinking along the lines of June or July. That give everone plenty of time to prepare. I'd probably drive up Friday after work, stay Friday night and Saturday night and drive back on Sunday. This also gives us some time to find a nice park or place to BBQ and hangout.

Okay, I'll need some help with this. I am looking for a good city park very near Daytona Beach to have a good picnic and car gathering. Then perhaps from there we can head to the track for a tour or perhaps the strip/park on the beach kind of deal.
Also any info on car museums in the area would be awesome.
Are there any Camaro Clubs in Daytona anyone knows of that we could hook up with for the weekend?

I don't know of any speciffic Camaro or F-body clubs in that area, but E.R.M.C.A. has a few F-body owners that are in the area. I'll try to find a suitable place to hold an event, so far I'm drawing a blank. There's a damn nice state park right by my house - approx. 30-40 minutes away from the Daytona Beach area & 5 minutes from I-4.

Daytona USA is pretty much the main attraction in the area, there used to be Klassic's auto museum - but that was a waste of $15. graemlins/dry.gif No wonder they closed down.

I am going to be through the Daytona area on the 17th of April and will attempt to scout a location.

Sorry the scouting trip failed. It was black college reunion week and the place looked like a police state. Multiple cops cars at every intersection with ticket books in hand. Looked like they were ready for a riot to break out any second. Lots of bling bling running around and since I didn't have time to put the 22" dubs on the Saturn ION I jumped back on 95 South and hit Cocoa Beach instead. smile.gif

How about Cocoa beach? Anything? Cookout under an overpass in Jacksonville? Pig roast and burnout contest at Brians? I really, really would like to get together with everyone this summer but the way my schedules looking between family etc. I need to find out soon and schedule it before I find out I have to attend something else extremely important (to someone else, hint hint!)

I was trying to hold something in a more centeralized location so our friends in Savannah
could attend. Cocoa would be sweet, just not as much to do as in Daytona. Perhaps we will have to just pick a weekend and general location, and then wing it.

i would go. if its in the end of july..my brother will go to we wanted to make a trip down to the beach this year with the cars.. he's go an iroc.
