Just got the car now, I'm working on it. I just purchased an "Edebrock Performer RPM cam". Will my stock 305 RS 1991 Camaro handle it without making the computer act up? If it does what is the fix? I just ordered the Hypertech computer chip and a B&M shift kit (for this weak feelin car.....)

Any comments or suggestions are apprciated.

it will be fine. But you really need to tune the computer for it. It will want to pull out timing when you need it and pull fuel when you need it. Also, watch the stock springs. Should be ok, but double check. As for everything else, the intake heads and exhaust need to be changed also otherwise your doing alot of work for nothing. Anywho.

Performer RPM is way to much cam for a injected 305. That cam is designed for a 10.0 to 1 compression 350 cubic inch or larger with good heads and 1 3/4" long tube headers. I ran that cam in a 11.0 to 1 383, very good cam just not for a injected 305.

Yeah, like Ski mentioned and I forgot, don't overlook those springs! Cams and springs should be a matched set. The bigger the cam, the stiffer the spring, and the stiffer the spring, the more of a demand for screw in studs.
