I'm going to be replacing the fuel pump in the LT1 car this week. Has anyone here done this in a 4th gen? I'm assuming its about the same as a thirdgen gen, i.e. you don't have to drop the rear end but its a lot easier to do so. Suggestions?

Racetronix plug & play, at the bare min. - a Walbro 255 and the Racetronix hot wire kit. It's about the same job as a 3rd Gen, my 2000 has a plastic tank and has that cannister deal that the pump mounts in. Your car may not have that yet being a 94'. HTH

Going from the top would be easier as long as you knwo where to cut. As the prev poster stated I would go with the racetronix kit as it seems to be the better kit to go with on our cars.

Drop the tank, use the racetronix kit like Brian said. I've used their stuff and have always been happy with it.
Depending on your exhaust, should be a 3-4 hr job tops. Last time I did it, I had help and we finished in 1.5 hrs. That was at night, in a parking light using a flashlight...... worst part, I need to do it again because I didn't use a walbro pump!!!!!!

Should have mentioned that the Racetronix plug and play is sitting in my room right now. :D I'm dropping the tank in a few minutes. Thanks guys.

Cool, glad to hear you're not going to hack a hole in the car. I don't care how neat of a cut it is, it's still a hack job to me when someone cuts the floor like that.

No cutting the floor here. I couldn't agree more that its a hack job to do it that way. Considering that I had the tank out in less than two hours, there isn't a lot of justification for cutting the floor.

The pump is in and working well. After doing this for the first time, I simply cannot find a reason why someone would ever hack up the floor of their car to do it. It was 4 hours out, and 2 hours back in. That time includes lots of breaks and BS'ing around. I installed the hotwire kit, which was surprisingly easy, in that time as well. +1 for Racetronix.

I was going to, but there are already tons of writeups on how to do the Racetronix swap, and you already did the rear axle writeup.
