another manual swap question

do I have to remove the cable that is on the column that goes to the shifter so that you cannot remove the key in any gear except for park?

I f I do how do I do it easily?

I'd rather just leave it and forget about it.

yes you will, and I don't know how easy/hard it is to do. I'm sure there is a way to "mod" it so that you don't have problems, but FWIW, manual cars have a different lock cylinder all together. They have a button that you have to push in order to roll it back.

I just left mine in and tucked it up out of the way...no problems thus far....I think Craig may have messed with taking it out....but I might be thinking of someone else

For the B&M shifter i have, it just says to tuck it away and be carefully not to pull the keys out while moving as the steering wheel will lock.
