My girlfriend has a 1990 Chevy lumina that I need a little help with. I'm hoping Bernard can help me on this one.

All of a sudden her ac controls for the vents has stopped working. All that works is the defrost vents. No matter at what position you set it at. Now along with the vents not working, the cruise control has also stopped. I figured it was a fuse. So I went and checked eash of the fuses in the box in the glove box and the ones under the hood. They all look fine. I cannot find any loose wires or vacuum lines. Any thoughts?

Still might be vacuum, but behind the dash panel. Losing vacuum behind the dash is probably why you lost your cruise, too.

Mike hit the nail on the head. The HVAC mode doors and cruise control are both vacuum acutated. If you lose vacuum, the HVAC defaults to the "defrost" position, and the cruise will not work. Find your cruise servo (it will have a throttle cable attached to it) and then follow the vacuum line untill you find where its broken. Two common places to break are the inline checkvalve and the vacuum resevoir. Its broke somewhere, just keep following the vacuum line untill you find it.
