Don't even get me started... all of the mustang mod motor nut swingers are all over that. But, the more I read into it - the more sketchy it gets. They pulled some weight out of it that they don't mention. Plus, I want to know how it picked up almost 10 MPH of trap with only a 36RWHP gain at peak. I can't wait for these cars to land in the hands of John Q Public. Sad, it took ford this long to catch up to the performance of an LS1.

I will however give them props for fast tracking their engine program. I read somewhere that they broght this new 5.0L engine and their new 3.6L V6 from the drawing board to production in about three years time. The V6 cars seem to be a better value, high 13's and 30+ MPG right off the showroom floor... for about $25 grand.

A little info I found about the car on the net...

The shop swapped out the stock six-speed manual trans for a C4 and then he plumbed a direct port nitrous system. Using prototype tuning software, Lelsz threw down 656 rwhp this morning on the dyno.

The white GT features upper and lower control arms, Bogarts all around, and the aforementioned parts.

Tonight during Test And Tune at Houston Raceway Park, Lelsz ran 9.96 at 137 mph right off the trailer! Congrats to the entire team on running so quickly with the shop ride and pushing the boundary even further.

The guys at Strictly said they will have the video posted to YouTube later tonight.

The cars that have been posted in this thread are stock internals... most have major weight reduction and a lot of gear thrown at them. The one that busted 9's has a race C4 in place of the 6 speed, and at least a 250 shot of gas... possibly a 300.

Also I might add, these aren't your run of the mill results. I plan to hit the track soon and see what most run in the "real world." I doubt it will be a ton slower, but I doubt they will match the times some of these "shop cars" are posting.

Ford put together a good package, GM needs to step it up a couple notches.
