1998 Chevy full size truck. Put a few cans of R134 in with the dye. It leaked down within 24 hours. Couldn't find any spots where the dye leaked out. Stuffed a few more cans in, let it sit and run with the A/C on full blast for over an hour, checked for leaks, nada. Next morning, it is out of freon again. The only thing I can think is that the leak is inside the plastic box on the firewall and that is why I am not seeing it.

Any tips, tricks, remedies? I am all ears.

I think it would have to be the evaporator in the box. The only place you'd not see it coming out. I dont "think" it's too hard to get the evap out of a truck of that year, but I could be wrong. Luckily an evaproator for that thing should not be too hard to find or too expensive and for that matter if you wanted used the u pulls have a lot of them.

It's the old man's truck Eric. 4.3L V6, plenty of room in the engine bay. Looks like I need to price one out and just suck it up. So tired of sweating my ass off when I borrow it. Other than that, it's a great truck.
