October's Feature Ride:
John Millican's 1986 Camaro SC

If you ever thought that a Sport Coupe wasn't much of a performer, John Millican's former LG4 equipped '86 SC will prove you wrong. This Camaro was two years in the making, and has proven that good things do come to those who wait! My first impression, after first seeing this car, I was not very intimidated, but had I pulled up next to him at a red light, I would have gone home with my head hung shamefully low. John has put together quite an impressive package, that has proven to be quite a performer. Here is a list of what you would never suspect under the hood:
383 Speed-O-Motive Short Block stroker, 4-bolt main
10.5:1 Flat top pistons
Crane Cams H-278-2 (278/290)
Trick Flow Twisted wedge G2 Aluminum Heads
SLP 1 3/4" Headers
3" Dynomax Catback exhaust
24lb/hr SVO Fuel Injectors
BBK AFPR
58mm Accel Throttle Body
Ported Plenum
SLP Cold Air Induction
Serpentine Belt setup
Energy Suspension motor mounts
Dual IROC Cooling fan setup
Custom Street&Performance PROM
160* Thermostat
Accel HEI Super Coil
Accel Performance Distributor
Hi-Torque Mini Starter

To make it all look pretty, John shot the engine bay with a fresh coat of paint while the engine was out. My only question is: Where are the flames? But then I guess that would ruin the "sleeper" look this car has presented so well.
But that's not all! There is more to a car than just the engine. The drivetrain has to be able to handle this stout package, and John tackled that with the same frame of mind as he did the engine.
3.73 Rear Gears
Auburn Pro Limited Slip Diff
Summit Cast Aluminum Diff Cover
Jegs Driveshaft Loop
Energy Suspension Trans Mount
B&M 2400 Stall, Lockup Converter w/ B&M Racing Trans Fluid
B&M Trans Cooler
Autospecialty Power Stop Slotted Brake Rotors
VGX Metallic High Performance Brake Pads
Impressed yet? I was, but John wasn't finished yet. For the "hook up" off the line, no setup would be complete without an upgraded chassis:
Hotchkis Lower Control Arms
Hotchkis Panhard Bar
Hotchkis Sub-frame Connectors
Global West Front Steering Brace
And finally, the cockpit. After all, that is where you spend most of your time, isn't it?
Panasonic CD Player
Pioneer 4x6 front, 6x9 rear speakers
Legacy 800 watt 4 channel Bridgeable amp
Custom Sealed, carpeted Subwoofer box w/ Dual 10" Rockford Fosgate Punch XLCs
Rockford Fosgate Punch 45 Sub-woofer Amp
Autometer twin A-pillar gauges, w/ water temp & oil pressure
Dynomax Soundproofing under a brand new carpet
